An Update From SCCA About Our Studio Operations

As of June 1, Scenic City Clay Arts is now open to the general public by appointment only. For the safety of studio members and staff, drop-in visitors are not permitted during open studio hours. Please contact us to schedule your visit to the studio!

Whether you want to make a purchase from our Mug Shop or pick up fired items from a previous class, we want to be here for you and your creative clay needs! We encourage you to reach out to our staff with your request. We are happy to assist you and arrange the best time for your service. The best way to reach us is by emailing us at studio@sceniccityclayarts.org. Please keep in mind that any studio visitors will be asked to follow SCCA’s studio health and safety policies, including wearing a mask the entire time you are in the space.

What we’ve been up to…

On March 15, 2020, SCCA closed the studio in compliance with area stay-at-home orders. During that time, we focused on sharing creative thoughts and encouragement with our supporters through social media, a successful fundraising campaign with GoFundMe Charity, and on communications with our members. On May 19, 2020, Scenic City Clay Arts began offering limited reservation opportunities for SCCA members only. We are pleased to be able to safely provide a creative outlet to our members during this time while adhering to local and national health and safety guidelines.

What’s coming up...

We do not have any adult pottery classes currently scheduled, but hope to begin offering these again by the end of the summer. We do have two youth classes still scheduled for July. We are planning for creative ways to offer classes and connect people with clay while keeping important social distancing policies in mind. The safety of our instructors, students, and staff are of the utmost importance to us.

For any recent students, we will be extending your class session expiration dates so you can continue to utilize your studio time after the studio reopens for non-members. Recent students may be contacted by SCCA and asked to schedule a time to pick up any of your class items still in the studio.

We appreciate your support as we continue to navigate this complex situation. Our staff, organizational leadership, and board of directors are taking every step to ensure that our SCCA community stays safe and healthy during the pandemic. We will continue to follow any orders set by our government and health officials, and will continue to adapt as needed. Thank you for your patience and encouragement during this time.

We are in this together!
