Scenic City Clay Arts is proud to be an ArtsBuild Community Arts Partner. We receive annual funding through the ArtsBuild Mission Support Grant that serves to support local arts organizations that create and provide year-round arts programs and experiences that are vital to the cultural life of the community. For the 2020-2021 year, ArtsBuild provided 21 local arts organizations with Mission Support funding.
Over the past five decades, Arts Build has invested more than $75 million in arts organizations, arts programs and arts education initiatives in Chattanooga. Additionally, ArtsBuild provides free arts performances and exhibits for more than 11,000 school children in grades K-4 each year and has financially supported more than 100 unique arts organizations and community arts projects and arts events since 2012.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, ArtsBuild created an Emergency Relief Fund for artists who were directly impacted by the loss of revenue from canceled arts and cultural events throughout Chattanooga. Between March and July 2020, they provided $46,062 in funds to 104 local artists.
SCCA received funding from ArtsBuild Community Cultural Connections grant and a special Art65+ grant in 2019. We also were awarded an Arts Build Community grant from the Tennessee Arts Commission, administered by ArtsBuild, to support our youth and family workshops.
