Scenic City Clay Arts reimagined
Scenic City Clay Arts is excited to announce the acquisition of a new, larger space to further the mission of providing access to ceramic arts in the Chattanooga community! This expansion will allow SCCA to consolidate their membership, studio, and outreach efforts under one roof, in a state-of-the-art facility located near downtown Chattanooga.
The new space, located at [New Address], spans an impressive 13,000 square feet, nearly tripling the size of their current 5,300-square-foot studio. This expansion is a significant step forward in their mission to make clay arts accessible to everyone in the community.
We can’t do this without your help. Help us reach our campaign goal of $500,000!
Our Challenge
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, demand for studio membership and education opportunities at SCCA has increased exponentially. Our community was hungry for spaces to create and heal, so we opened our secondary location, “The Classroom,” in 2021 to meet the growing demand. As more opportunities became available, demand continued to grow, leading to 3 main challenges:
Barriers to Access - There are over 300 people on our membership waitlist and classes continue to sell out at rapid rates.
Room to Grow - We are the sole clay arts center within 100 miles. More space allows us to add equipment and storage to serve more people than ever before.
Education Limitations - Over 3,000 students learned in our singular classroom space last year. How many more people could we serve with 4 classrooms?

Our Solution
We’ve maximized our current space and now, it’s time for a transformative expansion. SCCA is preparing to bring our membership, classes, outreach programs, and community events under one roof in a state-of-the-art facility.
This new space will be more than just a studio; it will be a vibrant hub for ceramics in the region, offering innovative programs, engaging workshops, and immersive clay arts experiences for locals and visitors alike. As a leader in the field, SCCA is poised to become a thriving regional hub for clay arts.
At SCCA, we believe that all people deserve the chance to create, connect, and heal through clay. Unfortunately, working with clay often comes with high financial barriers. We’re committed to breaking down these barriers so that all people have the chance to create, connect, and heal through the transformative power of clay. Your support helps make this possible.
