Glaze 101

For SCCA Members and current students only!

Join us for Glaze 101 - a FREE glaze orientation at our membership studio, located at 301 east 11th street.

Learn the basics of how to prep, wax, and apply glaze to your pieces. This orientation will help you learn how to glaze your pieces correctly and safely, in order to minimize glaze issues on your pieces, our equipment, and other people’s work.

Please note that this is not a specialty glaze class. We will not be diving into special glaze techniques, alternative glaze application methods, or explaining any glaze chemistry. This orientation is really just to introduce you to basic glazing skills so you can safely glaze your pots, and learn do’s and don’ts of glazing.

Pre-registration is required for this orientation session.

MEMBERS: You are encouraged to bring 1-2 bisque-fired pieces to the orientation for practice.

ACTIVE STUDENTS: You must bring all classwork you need to glaze. Glazing work created outside of an SCCA class is not permitted.
