A LOOK BACK: 2020 By The Numbers
Scenic City Clay Arts is a ceramics studio with a mission of sharing access to all things clay through collaborative education in a community studio.
Our mission statement was crafted during the strategic planning completed by the Board of Directors and staff leadership in October 2019. Strategic Plan 2020 was the first for SCCA and setup the year 2020 as a baseline from which to build upon for future years. Then the realities of 2020 came down on us all. We revisited the plan several times during 2020, and, despite the Covid-19 pandemic, SCCA remained focused on our long-term goals and even managed to achieve growth in several areas. After reviewing in our January 2021 Board meeting, we were proud of everything we successfully achieved in line with our strategic goals across the organization.
We specifically saw growth and goals were met in areas of our studio membership program, hiring of a part-time Education position, increased partner relationships, maintaining a positive internal studio culture, and growth in board and staff diversity.
A look at 2020, by the numbers:
Held 88 classes serving 693 students, including 104 children.
Offered 42 workshop sessions (26 of them free of charge to participants) serving 110 students through outreach programs or with our community partners.
Sold 53 take-home kits and provided 13 free kits to ELLA Library to give out to their community.
Provided 18 full or partial scholarships to classes.
Through all our programs and membership, SCCA served over 900 individuals and hosted over 2,800 unique visits to the studio.
