Today was the first class of our final Art 65+ class series! We love seeing everyone get settled in the studio and get to know each other. The ladies kicked off the class by sharing their previous clay experience as well as sharing their personal life stories, finding out they all had a lot in common with each other.
Lolly, their instructor, started them off by introducing them to the different types of clay that we use in the studio, and reviewing basic terminology that we use in the studio space. Lolly showed the students how to make basic pinch pots, paddle their pots to smooth the exterior, use the slab roller, and create bowls by slumping a piece of flat clay over a mold and paddling it into place. Lots to cover in their first class! We are excited to see how this group will grow their skills over the next 4 weeks.
