Virtual Consultation

$30/30-minute session
Our consultations are great for when you have. a few questions to ask about your kiln, or some minor troubleshooting. We can even help you know what you should order, or what diagnostic tests to run on your kiln if you want to try to complete the work yourself. Required prior to all in-person maintenance services or Kiln Maintenance class.
In-person Kiln Maintenance
$50/hr
Let us do the work for you. We can change elements, diagnose problems, and evaluate your kiln’s status.
- SCCA will complete the work alone - if you’d like for us to show you how to do it, we suggest scheduling our Kiln Maintenance class.
- Must agree to sign our terms and agreements waiver.
Kiln Basics Class
$200 for 2-hour class
Limited to no more than 3 attendees
Learn the basics of how to operate your own kiln, including:
- Loading your kiln
- Kiln shelf maintenance, including recipe for kiln wash
- Safety tips
- How to prolong the life of elements
- Basic kiln upkeep - replacing thermocouples, troubleshooting error codes, etc.)
- Sample firing programs for your kiln
Kiln Maintenance Class

$350 for up to 4-hour class
Limited to no more than 3 attendees
We’ll work together to disassemble your kiln, replace the elements and other equipment (relays, wiring, etc.), and review basic electrical knowledge needed for kiln maintenance. We’ll also cover vital troubleshooting and safety tips.
As this is a class and learning opportunity, it is not guaranteed that your kiln will be fully reassembled by the end of the class. We cannot exceed 4 hours for this particular offering. We can come back to finish the job for you at our hourly kiln maintenance rate of $50/hr, based on availability.
A virtual consultation is REQUIRED prior to this class, where we will ensure that you know to order your kiln parts and equipment prior to our scheduled class.
