Scenic City Clay Arts is thrilled to announce the "Clay Makers' Showcase," an exhibition featuring the inspiring works of students from our Clay Makers’ Collective. Hosted by ArtsBuild, this exhibit will run from August 15 through October 17, 2024, and is a must-see for art enthusiasts and supporters of diverse artistic voices.

The opening reception will take place on Thursday, August 15, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at ArtsBuild, located at 301 E. 11th Street in Chattanooga. This free event will offer the public a chance to meet the artists, view their unique ceramic pieces, and celebrate the vibrant creativity fostered within the Clay Makers’ Collective. Tickets are not required to attend.

Featured artists include Travis Upton, Sunitha Siddaramu, Coda Stone, Cortina Jenelle Caldwell, Sandra Gober, Anh Bao Tran-Le, and Jennifer Aguilar, all part of the inaugural cohort of the Clay Makers’ Collective. This program provides individuals from diverse backgrounds, including people of color and those of various gender expressions, the opportunity to explore ceramics. Through it, participants receive a comprehensive education in ceramics and access to a supportive artist community.

Don’t miss this opportunity to experience the powerful and beautiful creations of the Clay Makers’ Collective!

The Clay Makers’ Collective and this exhibition are sponsored by ArtsBuild and the Artist Work grant. Thank you for supporting clay arts inclusivity and diversity!
